Units from Cork City Fire Brigade are attending the scene of a fire at the former R&H Hall offices in the Docklands this morning.

Several units responded to what was described as a "well developed fire" in the early hours of this morning.

The alarm was raised at 2.17am and firefighters from 5 fire units fought to bring the blaze under control.

Three units remained at the scene this morning to dampen it down, departing just after 7.30 am

No injuries have been reported.

It's the second blaze at the site in recent weeks, with crews tackling a small fire at the R&H Hall premises on November 10th.

In January last year, the Port of Cork had to be evacuated after a huge fire broke out at the same premises.

At that time extensive damage was caused to a 30,000 foot facility which was mainly used as a buffer store to enable the unloading of ships, raw materials for animal feed was also stored at the site.

The cause of this latest blaze is not yet known.
