His 4,256 votes are now being distributed with his party colleague Pádraig O'Sullivan set to claim the second seat in the constituency.

Fine Gael are hoping the third seat will go to Colm Burke while the final seat will be a dog fight and the outcome will depend heavily on transfers with Solidarity's Mick Barry, and Independent candidate Ken O'Flynn among the top candidates in contention for the final seat.
