The families of the victims of the worst aviation tragedy in Irish and Canadian history have laid wreaths in Ahakista to mark the 40th anniversary of the Air India Disaster.
329 people including 29 families, died when a bomb brought down their flight off the coast of Cork on this day in 1985.
Assistant Commissioner David Teboul from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, attended today’s ceremony:
"This was the largest act of terrorism, of course, in Canadian history. 268 of them were Canadian citizens so it's extremely important to remember those victims and make sure we never forget."
