Meetings between anglers and Inland Fisheries Ireland take place in Mallow at midday today over a massive fish kill in North Cork.
Angling clubs on the River Blackwater say around 40 thousand fish have been killed while the IFI say its between 8 and 10 thousand.
Local TD Eoghan Kenny says its essential the reason why is urgently found:
"Nearly 40,000 fish killed on the Blackwater, not actually knowing why it happened and it's now improtant that Minister Dooley and Inland Fisheries Ireland actually account for what happened on the Blackwater."
