Workers at Enable Ireland in Cork and Kerry will strike today in a third day of action.

They'll picket outside Enable Ireland's Lavanagh Centre in Carrigrohane and at its adult centre on Edward Street in Tralee.

Forsa says staff employed in agencies funded by the HSE are employed on lower pay and lesser conditions than the same grades in the health authority.

Assistant General Secretary of the union, Eddie Walsh says the Government must help improve their pay.

"We're clearly of the view that urgent Government action is needed to address the funding of these organisations within the sector, to make pay improvements for staff, to stem the high rate of staff exits each year, and to fulfil the recruitment targets which are vital within the health services to ensure that homeless services, disabilities services and so forth can be provided within the community."
