Emergency services attended the scene of a head on collision on the northside of the city in the early hours of this morning.

Gardaí, the Fire Service and National Ambulance Service were called to reports of a serious collision at Harbour View Road, Knocknaheeny just after midnight

It's believed one of the cars involved in the incident was stolen.

The collision happened just metres from where 16 year old Kimberly O'Connor was killed in a crash in February.

Emergency services are also currently attending a serious single car collision close to Dunnes Stores on the Bandon road this morning and caution is advised in the area.
