Efforts Being Made To Establish Who Owns Ghost Ship In Ballycotton

Efforts are now being made to establish who owns a stricken ghost ship on the Ballycotton coast

The MV Alta has been lodged on rocks since it was swept in from the Atlantic during Storm Dennis.

The cargo ship had been adrift since it's crew were forced to abandon it off the coast of Bermuda a year and a half ago.

Yesterday a helicopter was used to remove 95 barrels from the 80-metre vessel after fears were raised over pollution.

Kevin Morey from Cork County Council says the focus will now be to find its owner:
