Cork's Sudanese Community is fundraising to send humanitarian aid to the war-torn country.
A United Nations team is set to visit Sudan today, as fighting there enters its third week.
It will assess the deteriorating humanitarian conditions, as the Sudanese army and a rival militia group continue to battle for control of the country.

Speaking to RedFM News, General Secretary of the Cork Sudanese Association, Dr Osama Ali says there is a large Sudanese Community in Cork.
"It's a big community, we are at least 300 so we can help the humanitarian efforts. There organisations such as the Sudanese Doctors Union, they are doing a great job to try and help people. Half of the hospitals there are out of service - even the hospitals are being shelled.
