The Vintners Federation of Ireland says it’s frustrating to see a rise in unemployment of young people.

New figures from Ipsos shows one in 10 young people aged between 15 and 24 are now out of work.

Speaking to RedFM News, Cork publican and president of the VFI Michael O’Donovan says there are plenty of opportunities for young people to work in the hospitality industry:

"It's frustrating, you look at every hospitality outlet, they're always looking for people so to hear that people would rather sit at home than going out to work in the evening. It's good for young people to get out working and there are opportunities out there but you just have to go out and do it."
