The Cork Simon Community say their emergency shelter hosted more people last month than ever before.
76 people a night stayed at the emergency shelter on Anderson's Quay in November, however with potentially sub-zero temperatures on the way this week, the charity say they will do everything they can to help more people sleeping on the street.
Met Éireann say ground temperatures could hit minus six or seven from Wednesday night when a cold front hits the country.
Cork Simon's outreach team are continuously meeting people who are sleeping rough and advising them that they can use the groups Night Light service between 11:30pm and 8am.
Speaking to RedFM News, Paul Sheehan from Cork Simon says they are looking at all available options:
"We'll find a few extra spaces on the floor somewhere in our emergency shelter if extra spaces are needed and, you know, we've got people stay there for the duration of the cold weather. And, you know, some of our high support houses, their shared houses, people have their own rooms, which are our living spaces. There might be a few beds becoming free for a few days people might be in hospitals or whatever. So we use those so we make sure they're not left empty. So we're looking at every available space we can have."
