Management at the Emergency Departments at Cork University Hospital and the Mercy University Hospital say they are under severe pressure.
The hospitals also say the number of Covid-19 positive patients admitted to the hospitals are putting severe pressure on services.
The South/South West Hospital group are requesting that the public contact their GP or South Doc and expore all other options before attending ED departments if their needs are not urgent.
