A Cork family say they were told that the radon in their daughter’s bedroom is the equivalent of an X-ray every day.
That's according to today's Irish Examiner.
On Thursday, a new online map from the Environmental Protection Agency, showing radon gas levels around the country, crashed within hours of going live, because to the number of people trying to use it.
The EPA says that 170,000 homes across the country are thought to be at risk from the radioactive gas, which has been linked with an increase in lung cancer.
The map shows most of Cork City, East Cork and parts of North Cork are likely to have high radon levels.
