Kian Mullen is a 7-year-old from Cobh, Co. Cork who was born with a rare genetic condition called Fox-G1.

Due to his condition that means that Kian is non-verbal, non-mobile and tube fed.

Despite his condition Kian lives a happy life which is filled with fun, and his parents April and Rob, want to ensure that achieving this happiness is even easier for him.

Kian has Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFOs) and needs specific shoes that can fit over his orthotics that he can wear day-to-day.

Noticing it was a challenge to find shoes that suit Kian’s needs, his parents took on the challenge of finding a solution to this problem.

After much searching the family found Billy Footwear, a brand which seemed like the answer to all their prayers.

However, Billy Footwear was only available from the United States which meant their were crazy shipping prices, long delivery times, aswell as custom prices to pay.

April and Rob decided to take the leap for themselves, and other families in need of specialist shoes and bring Billy Footwear to Ireland.

They have dotingly named the company ‘Keeks’, which is Kian’s family nickname.

The aim of ‘Keek’s’ is to make a wider range of products available in Ireland to help parents and children with special needs.
