Morning Update 10.15 a.m - 19th October 2022

Cork City Council’s Flood Assessment Team met this morning to review the overnight impact of the Status Orange rainfall warning which remains in place until midnight tonight.

The city council received no reports of flooding or storm related damage overnight, so roads in the city remain open.

However, further heavy rainfall and thundery showers are expected from 3pm this afternoon until midnight tonight, therefore Cork City Council is asking property owners to be on alert until the warning has been lifted.

Across the city, the heavy rainfall will likely lead to surface water and hazardous driving conditions so motorists are asked to drive with care.

Cork City Council crews are on standby across the city.

Cork City Council’s Customer Service Unit is available at 021 492 4000 until 9pm. For emergencies requiring the emergency services, the public should contact the emergency services at 112 or 999.

If you require Cork City Council outside of normal office hours, please call 021 4966512.
