Concerns In Knocknaheeny In the Wake Of A Number Of Tragic Road Traffic Incidents Recently

A protest is being held by residents of the area today who are calling on motorists to slow down

Concerns are mounting in the Knocknaheeny area in the wake of a number of tragic road traffic incidents in recent months.

16-year-old Kimberly O’Connor was killed when the car she was travelling in collided with a wall on Harbour View Rd in February, and just last Tuesday a six-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being knocked down on the same road.

A protest is being held by residents of the area in the next hour who are calling on motorists to slow down, and for the installation of traffic calming measures.

Speaking to RedFM News Cllr Tony Fitzgerald says residents want action, and fear if something isn't done further road traffic incidents will occur:
