City Council urging households and business to take precautionary measures ahead of Storm Barra

The City Council are asking householders and businesses to take precautionary measures to protect their property from flooding tomorrow.

There is a risk of tidal flooding in the City at 7:24am.

Sand and gel bags are available from Angelsea Terrace and Tramore Valley Civic Amenity Site until 8pm this evening.

Meanwhile, Douglas Community School have announced the school will stay closed tomorrow due to Storm Barra.

Elsewhere Cork Airport say the early morning Aer Lingus Services to Amsterdam and London Heathrow have been cancelled due to the Red Wind Warning.

Bank Of Ireland have also announced the closure of all Cork branches tomorrow after observing the weather alerts.
