Calls have been made for clarity on the funding allocated in yesterday's Budget for Cork Events Centre.

The long awaited Events Centre has been the subject of much conversation since the controversial sod-turning ceremony over six years ago by then Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

At the time, Enda Kenny stated that he was confident that the 5,000 seat Events Centre would be open for business within two years.

In May, the City Council issued tender documents for the construction of two pedestrian bridges to connect to the former Beamish & Crawford brewery site and the future location of the planned
€80 million events centre.

Speaking to RedFM News, Peter Horgan a spokesperson for the Labour Party has called for clarity on the project.
