Barnardos says that 700 families in Cork contact them on a regular basis

The families are in need of help as they struggle with the rising cost of inflation.

A survey by Amárach Research and Aldi found that 9% of families in Munster feel close to poverty, with 24% feeling worried about nothing being able to provide food for their children.

51% of families have cut down spending on household bills and loan repayments in order to be able to afford food.
