The incident happened just after 1.30am in the Ballyvolane area
A man is due to appear in court today in connection with an aggravated burglary in the city early Friday morning.
Officers from Mayfield Garda Station responded to the callout and the man in his 20s was arrested at the scene.
He's due to appear before a special sitting of the Cork City District Court this evening
