There were 63 arrests for Drink and Drug Driving across Cork city and county - as part of Garda Christmas and New Year Road Safety Campaign.
The Cork North Division saw the most drink and drug driving arrests in the county.
They detained 25 people for drink driving and 5 people for drug driving
Nationwide, 745 people were arrested for Driving Under the Influence, 136 of whom were detained on suspicion of Drug Driving..
Throughout the campaign 7,405 checkpoints were carried out nationally between 1st December 2022 and the 3rd of January 2023.
The figures also reveal 932 drivers were detected using their mobile phones while 14,704 speeding offences were detected and 4,829 road traffic collisions were reported.
