A major fish kill is being investigated in Kanturk in which at least 5000 fish have been killed.
It happened as a result of the River Allow becoming contaminated.
Uisce Eireann has a water treatment plant nearby in Freemount and says it's investigating a reported spillage while engaging with Inland Fisheries Ireland and the Environmental Protection Agency.
