Only 1.5 per cent of Garda cars are electric.
Justice Minister Helen McEntee says the force has 40 fully electric vehicles and 10 hybrids.
She says the figures will increase in the future.
Minister McEntee says Garda management are currently trying to identify Garda stations where charging points can be installed.
