Up to 20 times more shooting stars than usual will be visible over Ireland tonight.
We're in the midst of the best meteor shower of the year, the Geminid Shower, which is reaching its peak this week.
Astronomy Ireland is appealing to star-gazers to count how many they see every 15 minutes and log their reports on astronomy.ie.
Editor of Astronomy Ireland magazine, David Moore says visibility should be good tonight:
"Well, you can still enjoy, and we do expect a lot of showers during this week. So conditions are actually perfect, the only bugs that people live in countryside do always do the painful ones to get a better show that the moon is going to rise because of those firewalls, even people in the city and get great displayed."
