Traders in the City say the last few weeks have been very busy with early Christmas shoppers.
With less than 20 days to Christmas, an influx of people have kept shops in the city hard at work, with many traders saying that people are making an extra effort to shop local this year.
Retailers were some of the hardest hit during the Pandemic and say it's vital that people spend in their local communities rather than online.
Speaking to RedFM News, Sheena McCarthy from Sheena's Boutique on Oliver Plunkett Street outlines the impact of shopping locally:
"It allows us employ more people, it brings more business into the city, helps more businesses around us, everyone feeds off the same customer, and it brings more money to the city, and it's also very important for a carbon footprint."
John Neville from Neville Jewellers on Winthrop Street told RedFM News that shopping locally has never been more important:
"Well, it's critical every Christmas, but especially this Christmas coming in to town. I mean, on top of everything else is an amazing experience you've got fantastic stores, fantastic restaurants and it supports local jobs it's just critical for the local economy, with the on street dining and the retailer's ready the town is ready for Christmas. It's looking fantastic never been better."
