Toll companies should have to donate any overpayments by motorists to charity, according to the Social Democrats

It comes after new figures found drivers overpaid by around 800 thousand euro in the last 2 years.

However, the Social Democrats have called for clarity as to where that money is going.

Co-leader and transport spokesperson Catherine Murphy believes it shouldn't be kept as revenue:

"Previously, I've made the argument and I've made the comparison with Dublin Bus, both to how they a you know a system in place where the overpayments are used and distributed among the, the customer base if you like or the communities that the customers come from."
