"Stay off the roads tomorrow, it's not safe to travel"
That's the message from the Road Safety Authority who have announced that it's too dangerous to drive during Storm Barra.
A status Red Wind Warning has been issued from 6am until 9pm tomorrow and people are asked to avoid all non-essential travel and to stay at home until the warning has been lifted.
The RSA have are advising people to adhere to of any diversions in place by local authorities as unsafe roads could put people in extreme danger.
Speaking to RedFM news, Brian Farrell from the Road Safety Authority, says even after the warning is lifted people need to be careful:
"In terms of road travel and road use, our advice is stay off the roads. It's not safe to travel on the roads tomorrow and we're asking people not to travel and to stay indoors until the storm has passed. And then I suppose when the storm has passed, we need to be aware of the fact that just because the worst of the weather may have gone and the obvious danger from the weather may have gone. Our roads may be impacted following the storm in terms of downed pylons, trees, branches."
