Tomorrow, RedFM Breakfast team are heading off to Mallow on a road trip. They will be broadcasting from the Hibernian Hotel in Mallow. The RedFM team went down a little early and found a fabulous gem of a bookshop on the Main Street in Mallow called Philip’s Bookshop. Philip's Bookshop opened their doors in 1989 by husband and wife Philip and Catherine O’Flynn. They have been open for over 30 years.

Their daughter June started to work in the business in 2008 which brought an opportunity to move to a lager premises with bigger square footage. They added to their wide array of books and now provide school uniforms, a new lines of stationary gifts, puppets, art, Jigsaws, cards, wrapping and much more. The shop employs over 13 staff which are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

In April 2019, they moved to a new premises which many of you might know as the old Dunnes Stores building in Mallow on 22 West End, Main Street. This 5000 sq ft is now full of books, gifts, art, school books, stationary, games and so much more. One of our favourite sections in the shop was their “Love from Cork” area which showcases art and craft produced by over 20 artists and craft people from Cork. A gem in the shop.

Be sure to check out the RedFM Facebook page for a chance to win a €100 Philip's Bookshop voucher which can be used in the shop in Mallow or on their website. (Note: Voucher cannot be used on school books).

Philip's bookshop are also up for the An Post Bookshop of the Year and would love you to vote for them here.

Here is a little taste of the bookshop in our video below.
