Management at Cork University Hospital are asking people to explore all available options before presenting at the hospitals Emergency Department

The ED has been exceptionally busy over the past few days and is leading to long waiting times.

CUH is asking people to contact their GP or SouthDoc if their needs are not urgent and are reminding people that they can attend local injury clinics at St Mary's Health Campus in Gurranabraher, Bantry General and Mallow General Hospitals.

Management say the situation is being treated as a priority and say patient care is paramount.
