Homeowners on the Douglas Road are selling their homes and leaving the area due to the proposed BusConnects plan.
That's according to a representative of the Douglas Road Environment Heritage and Community Group who say the plan which includes a road widening service means the residents will lose parts of their gardens, parking spaces and local greenspaces.
Yesterday the NTA announced the second round of public consultation on the 600 million euro Cork BusConnects project has opened
The group say the plans mean some homewoners won't be able to park cars near their home as there will be a public highway metres from their front door and have called the plans "an intrusion of private property."
Speaking to RedFM News, group representative Ronan Margey says homeowners in the area are prepared to fight the BusConnects plan in Court.
"It's caused quite a substantial amount of stress to the local population in the last nine months already. We've had circumstances where people have been so stressed that they sold their home we've had circumstances where people have had relapse of health conditions brought on by stress. We have some people that live along the road that in the initial plans released last summer, their home would have been on habitable."
