Grocery inflation is back in single digits for the first time in over a year.

Grocery inflation is back in single digits for the first time in over a year.

It now stands at 9.8 per cent.

This survey by Kantar shows the cost of groceries is just about in single digits at 9.8 per cent.

At one stage - it was at 16.5 per cent - which was back in May.

We're still on the hunt for bargains - with the sale of items sold on promotion at 24.8 per cent.

We're also buying the shops own brands more at 11 per cent compared to known brands at 6 per cent.

Online sales remain strong - up 28 per cent year on year, while we're shopping in store about 20 times a month.
