Four closure orders were served on food businesses last month, including one where live rats were seen on the premises.
The Food Safety Authority of Ireland shut down businesses in Dublin, Cork and Donegal.
Other problems include chicken stored at 23 degrees celsius, rat droppings found near food storage, and evidence of pests gnawing foodstuff.
Eight prohibition orders, which are under appeal, were served on Holland and Barrett on Saint Margaret's Road in Dublin in connection with a variety of CBD products which had been withdrawn from sale or recalled.
