The €20,000 fund to produce a drama short film is named after Oscar winning producer David Puttnam and his wife Patsy who live in Skibbereen.
Directors must produce a film on the Cork section of the Wild Atlantic Way around the theme of 'The New Normal.'
Entry is open to directors who have made at least one short film that has had a festival screening and more information is available on the Fastnet Film Festival website.
David Puttnam outlines what the judges will be looking for:
"It'll be a 10 minute live action short, somehow depicting within West Cork what the new normal might look like and that's going to be a pleasant surprise for all of us, but it's a mind stretching objective, if you can pull that off. The Fastnet Film Festival has been part of our lives now for a dozen years and it's a phenomenal success"
