'God save the King' has been cheered following the official announcement of Charles the Third as Britain's new king.
The first proclamation was made from a balcony at St James's Palace in London, watched by a large crowd, before the second reading at the Royal Exchange in the heart of London City.
The King paid tribute to his mother's "life long love" and "selfless service", and vowed to follow in her footsteps.
Cork fishmonger Pat O'Connell is among those mourning the passing of Britain's Queen Elizabeth.
'The Queen and the Fishmonger' became a well-known Cork combo that lasted over a decade - after Pat was chosen to meet her during a Royal visit to Cork's English Market.
They exchanged a joke at his stall at the time, and Pat says they later kept in touch by letter.
