A post office in Cork city is due to close, as An Post has been unable to secure a replacement postmaster.
High Street post office in Turner's Cross will shut on March 5th following the departure of the current postmaster.
The Echo report that An Post have advertised twice for a replacement, but received no applications and therefore have no alternative but to close the High Street office.
Customers in receipt of payments from the Social Welfare Department will be transferred to the south Douglas Road post office.
