15 routes are operating out of Cork with reduced capacity however management say the €1.4 million in funding announced today will help to bring back airlines and routes operating out of the airport

Management at Cork Airport say they are looking forward to the recovery of the aviation industry but understand that it will take time to rebuild

Speaking to RedFM News Cork Airport's Kevin Cullinane says intending passengers will need to give themselves a little extra time on Monda:

"We're building back with our airlines, who are getting more confidence. Obviously next Monday, we'll see the reopening of non-essential international travel. That's giving people confidence and the vaccination programme is been being rolled out also. So we are seeing a recovery of sorts, but it is going to be a very slow and gradual recovery over the next couple of years."
