- Gardaí are appealing for witnesses after a mans body was recovered from the River Lee last thursday. The man entered the water between 1 and 1.30am at Shandon Bridge which is at the junction of Lavitt's Quay and Cornmarket Street in the city.
- It's been a bad weekend on the roads, after a man died in a trike crash in County Waterford. It brings to three, the number of people killed in collisions since Saturday, including two motorcyclists.
- A leading oncologist is appealing to people not to allow their anxiety from preventing them for going for cancer screening. Professor Seamus O'Reilly who is based at Cork University Hospital says the outcome will be better the earlier a patient begins treatment.
- Dolphins were spotted in the river lee over the weekend, three dolphins were swimming around Sullivan's quay for a few hours on Saturday night. Many were worried that they were lost but the river lee flows eastwards and the dolphins will have swam to reenter the sea at Cork Harbour.
