The Taoiseach is to raise the case of a Cork man who says he is being blocked from leaving the Philippines to access cancer treatment at home
Authorities at the airport told 73-year-old John O’Neill from the "Rice for Life" charity, who is originally from Gerald Griffin Street in Blackpool, that he owes ‘immigration fees’, which he disputes
Speaking to RedFM News Taoiseach Micheál Martin says he will follow up to ensure consular assistance is being provided in this case
"Well normally consular help is available at all times for people in that situation. I will check that with the office and revert back. I will check the case out but we do always provide consular assistance"
