The inquest in to the Stardust Nightclub tragedy gets underway in Croke Park this morning.
It's taken the families of those that died over 42 years to secure an inquest after numerous calls were rejected by the State.
48 people lost their lives when fire engulfed the Stardust disco in Artane on the north side of Dublin on Valentine's Night in 1981.
Spokesperson for the Families, Antoinette Keegan, says she never ever thought today would come.
"It's going to be a big day for us. This is the reality.
"We've waited 42 years for this day to come. It's a big day for us.
"It's an absolute disgrace, what successive governments have done to us family.
"They have treated us so inhumanely, so disgracefully. I say again and again, shame on every successive Government to have done this to us families.
"We did not deserve it. We have never done anything to the Irish state, and neither did our loved ones."
