Some fuel forecourts have started to drop their petrol and diesel prices, but many remain unchanged.

It's after the Dáil voted last night to cut excise duty on a litre of diesel by 20 cent, and petrol by 15 cent until the end of May in an effort to offset rising fuel prices due to the Middle East conflict

Transport Minister Darragh O'Brien says the Government is watching to make sure petrol stations pass on the cuts

"But we will watch that very, very closely., I can assure people also the CCPC are also monitoring this.chair within my own department, the Energy Affordability task force that met last week again, that will meet again tomorrow. and this is something that is a standing item on our agenda. That group is drawn across government, from state agencies and government departments, chaired by myself that we have to continue to monitor"
