A fake, cold sitting room has been set up outside Leinster House, to highlight the cold winter renters are dealing with.
Friends of the Earth organised the event ahead of a Bill being debated in the Dail, aiming to introduce energy rating standards for private rented accommodation.
The Government is being urged to vote in favour of the Bill.
Claire O'Connor from Friends of the Earth says some renters are living in poor conditions:
"Housing for all back in 2021 committed to introducing minimum BER's this year, but we still haven't seen that operation come to life. This bill would effectively make that happen. It's not the time right now to be rolling back on energy efficiency standards for rental properties. Renters are living in some of the coldest, draughtiest, mouldiest homes"
