SIPTU members in AbbVie in East Cork are engaged in a work to rule in a row over pay and anti-union practices.
Union members at the Carrigtwohill based pharmaceutical manufacturer secured a Labour Court recommendation in 2017 for union recognition which the company has ignored.
Speaking to RedFM News, SIPTU's Andrea Cleere outlines what form today's industrial action is taking:
"There'll be a ban on overtime. They will have strict adherence to standard operating procedures. There is a requirement that they would have four weeks notice before they would change shift pattern. There's a lot of goodwill that goes on in the workplace and workers will overlook that requisite but in this instance they will require the four weeks notice."
