Peter O’Mahony's chances of featuring in Saturday’s series decider against New Zealand have been boosted this morning.

The veteran back-row has come through his second head injury assessment following last weekend’s 23-12 victory against the All-Blacks.

O’Mahony will be cleared to play in Saturday’s third Test if he comes through another assessment tomorrow.

Garry Ringrose has been ruled out of match in Wellington due to a head injury.

Keith Earls meanwhile will skipper an inexperienced Irish side against the Maori All-Blacks tomorrow morning.

Five uncapped players will start - with Ciaran Frawley, Jimmy O’Brien, Cian Prendergast, Jermey Loughman and Joe McCarthy all handed a chance to impress.

Six of the eight replacements featured in last Saturday’s win against New Zealand, including out-half Joey Carbery and wing Mack Hansen.
