Munster defence coach Denis Leamy is confident they can turn the corner, starting this weekend.

The Reds host the Bulls in Thomond park, going into the game on the back of three defeats in their opening four games in the URC.

After back to back defeats, Munster picked up their first win of the season with an unconvincing win over Zebre in Musgrave Park, before losing to Connacht in Galway last weekend.

It's been a tough start for new head coach Graham Rowntree and his team, however Leamy is confident they're close to getting it right.

"The games that are to come are obviously very, v very difficult. The league is of excellent quality now, so there are no easy games.

"Obviously, results haven't been what we'd like them to be, that's a fact.

"The spirit around the group is very good, the energy is very good. We had a very good reset on Monday, lots of good chats and discussion, building plans, learnings, all those things that go on, and it was a really good day.

"We were on the pitch for a shorter session yesterday [Monday], that went really well. We'd an excellent session today, and we had a really good tempo to the session, lots of good quality.

"We're really excited about playing what is an unbelievable side coming to Thomond Park in the Bulls, so there's loads to be excited about. It hasn't been what we've wanted it to be to date, but we believe in it and we feel we're getting better and better".

Reds captain Peter O'Mahony is a doubt for the game with a neck injury, while Mike Haley (groin) joins RG Snyman (knee), Jack Daly (knee), Alex Kendellen (head), Paddy Kelly (head), Keith Earls (thigh), Andrew Conway (knee), Simon Zebo (calf) on the injured list.

Kick off in Thomond Park on Saturday evening is at 7.35.
