The Irish management team have issued an injury update as preparations continue for Saturday’s World Cup Quarter final with New Zealand.

James Ryan is to see a specialist today - they’re hopeful he’ll get better news than first feared.

The second row suffered a hand injury in the win over Scotland on Saturday night.

Both Mack Hansen and James Lowe are recovering after picking up knocks, while Robbie Henshaw and Keith Earls are both in contention to play on Saturday.

Nobody has been ruled out at this stage.

Meanwhile France captain Alexander Dupont has been cleared to return to training as they prepare to face South Africa in the last 8.

France have confirmed this morning that their scrum half has been cleared to return to action by the surgeon who operated on him.

The 26 year old picked up the injury in the win over Namibia last month.
