Residents in Midleton say they’re sick and tired of plans for a flood prevention plan being pushed out.
The County Council says it will not be ready to apply for planning permission for the 56-million-euro project until September.
Speaking to RedFM News, Caroline Leahy from Midleton and East Cork Flood Protection Group says residents fear they will flood again before a flood relief scheme is put in place:
"In October, we were told the planning was to go in, in June and now that's been pushed back to September. So while the headlines read fantastic, this is only 8 months away to submission, the reality is that's longer than what we expected. And this is why we end up with a complete lack of trust that this is going to get across the line."
