Ukraine's President has asked people everywhere to take to the streets to show their solidarity with the country.

The UN General Assembly is due to vote today on a resolution which blames Russia for escalating the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

NATO is also set to approve major increases in its forces in eastern Europe.

Addressing his nation in English for the first time, President Zelenskyy says everyone can show their solidarity.

""Come from your offices, your homes, your schools and your universities.

"Come in the name of peace. Come with Ukrainian symbols to support Ukraine, to support freedom, to support life.

"Come to your squares, your streets, make yourselves visible and heard. Say that people matter, freedom matters, peace matters, Ukraine matters."
