A new study in the UK has found autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and type-1 diabetes are linked with a higher risk of developing heart disease.
Patients could be between 1.4 and 3.6 times more at risk than people without an autoimmune disorder - depending on which condition they have.
In Britain, around ten percent of the population have at least one autoimmune issue.
