Snow has been reported in parts of Cork this morning.
A Status Yellow low temperature warning remains in place until 10am.
The city council and county council have urged motorists to drive with caution and be aware of black ice on roads.
Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says it didn't get as cold overnight as was expected:
"The wind-chill factor this morning is going to make it feel cold. Temperatures didn't actually drop as low overnight as had been forecast - a lot more cloud. There has been some of the white stuff. There has been some sneachta down around parts of Cork and Waterford especially, so a few people are still reporting snow showers in Cork and a few areas like Tramore saw some heavy showers for a time last night, but generally dry and cloudy".
