One in ten parents had to turn to food banks over the last 12 months, as the costs crisis continues to impact families.
A study carried out for Barnardos and ALDI found more parents are worried about the ability to provide their kids with enough food.
Almost one in 3 skipped meals or reduced portion sizes.
Bardarndos CEO, Suzanne Connolly, says its time for the Government to act.
"We're calling on the Government to develop and implement a food poverty plan as part of its programme of work with the Child Poverty and Wellbeing Unit.
"We're also calling on the Government to continue to roll out the hot school meals programme, and to introduce targeted measures to families who need it most, which are lone parent families and parents on fixed or limited income."
