Peoples' attitudes towards migrant nurses has changed, with some experiencing racism in the workplace.
That's according to Migrant Nurses Ireland, who say the country's reputation abroad at the moment has worsened.
According to the HSE, almost 900 international nurses have started working for the health service so far this year.
Vinu Kaippilly from Migrant Nurses Ireland says as more nurses come here, racism has become more prevalent:
"The number of nurses coming to Ireland is huge at the moment, the change in the demography actually changed the approach of the Irish people. I'd say we are here and listen from the nurses that there is a bit of resistance for them to kind of integrate into the society and even at work. There's a bit of hate to say this, but there's a bit of systemic racism. That's what we're hearing."
